#17 Mesa Baseball Gets 17-3 Victory on Opening Day
Mesa, AZ - It was quite an opening day for the #17 Mesa Thunderbirds baseball squad as they defeated the Benedictine University of Mesa JV team, 17-3.
The T-Birds scored five runs in the first, one in the second, five in the third and six in the fourth as Mesa collected 14 total hits on the afternoon.
Cameron Doherty starting the game for Mesa, throwing four innings while not allowing any runs.
Mesa will again play the Benu JV team in a double-header on Saturday beginning at noon at Mesa Community College.
