Scottsdale, AZ - The #6 Mesa Thunderbirds won the first game of a two game series with the Scottsdale Artichokes Friday afternoon, 6-0.
Nick Bonniksen pitched a solid six innings, allowing four hits and striking out five.
On the offensive side of the ball, catcher Marcus Skundrich went 3-4 and knocked in three RBI's. The T-Birds scored five of their six runs in sixth and seventh innings to help Mesa move to a 17-5 overall record.
Mesa and Scottsdale will be back in action tomorrow at noon at MCC.
