Lack of Run Production Dooms Mesa in Double Header Sweep at Eastern

Thatcher, AZ- The wind blew and the bats went cold as the Mesa Thunderbirds dropped two games at Eastern Arizona Tuesday afternoon, 2-0 (7), 10-5.

Matt Mosca threw game one, going six innings, only allowing two hits, two runs(1 ER) while striking out six.

The T-Birds had six hits of their own but all coming as singles as they were shutout for just the second time all season.

In game two, Mesa's Mitchell Morimoto went 2-4 with a double, an RBI and a run.  With Kent Hasler on the mound, the Gila Monsters managed to just get one run in on five hits but it was the Mesa bullpen who couldn't steady the ship, allowing eight Eastern runs in the second sweep Mesa has endured in the past ten days.

The T-Birds will be back home tomorrow against the ASU Club Team than back at home again on Friday against Central, first pitch at 3 p.m.
