MESA, AZ - Mesa ran its season-opening win streak to four with an 11-1 win over the Grand Canyon University club team Wednesday.
The T-Birds jumped on top 4-0 after three and sealed the win with a four-run fifth. GCU scored in the top of the seventh, the first run MCC has allowed this season.
MCC spread out the hitting with eighth players recording hits led by Esteban Martinez (Fr., Oak Forest, Ill, St. Rita H.S.) who had two, including a double and three RBIs.
Matt Mosca (So, Las Vegas, Nev/Cimarron-Memorial H.S.) pitched three-hit ball for five innings to record the victory.
The T-Birds host the Arizona St. club team Friday at 3:00 p.m.
