Carvalho named ACCAC Division II Pitcher of the Week

  MESA, AZ - The no-hitter Tyler Carvalho (So., Lancaster, Calif/Paraclete H.S.) threw Saturday has earned him ACCAC Division II Pitcher of the Week honors.

  Carvalho no-hit league-leading Cochise in the first game of a doubleheader. In the process he struck out nine and walked just two.

  The effort lowered his ERA to just 0.24, best in the nation among pitchers who have thrown at least 14 innings. He is 6-0, leading the country in wins, and has 42 strikeouts in 38 innings and just two walks.

  He has helped lead Mesa to a 19-5 record.
