Baseball Helps D-Backs'Miley Raise Funds to Fight Cancer

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The national champion Mesa baseball team made its presence felt in an off-the-field way Monday by assisting Arizona Diamondbacks star pitcher Wade Miley raise funds for cancer awareness at a baseball camp.

The T-Birds pitched in to help the D-Backs' lefthander at his Wade Miley Charity Celebrity Baseball Camp held at the Diamondbacks' training facility at Salt River Fields.

MCC assistant coach Doug Rose and players Daniel Lutz (Fr., Phoenix, AZ/Shdaow Mountain H.S.) and James Anderson (Fr., Henderson, Nev/Coronado H.S.), along with Rose's son, Kaden, were on hand to help.

The two-hour camp was for 5-17-year-olds who were put through a series of drills by celebrity instructors.

A close friend of Miley's is fighting brain cancer, prompting the major-leaguer to do his part in the battle.
