Andrew Stucky goes 3 for 3 with three runs, Anthony Imhoff has shutout outing as Aztecs Baseball sweeps Mesa CC

The Pima Community College baseball team (18-7, 9-5 in ACCAC) picked up two ACCAC conference wins on the road at Mesa Community College (12-14, 2-13) on Saturday.
The Aztecs got solid production from starting pitchers Anthony Imhoff (Queen Creek) and Alessandro Castro (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) and the offense took over in the second game.

Game 1: Pima CC Aztecs 3, Mesa CC Thunderbirds 0: The Aztecs got another quality pitching performance from Imhoff as he threw six innings giving up two hits with nine strikeouts and two walks on 98 pitches. Freshman J.T. Drake picked up his seventh save of the season after he threw just nine pitches and had one strikeout in the 7th inning to close it out.
The Aztecs broke the scoreless tie in the 6th inning as they loaded the bases with one out. Sophomore Gage Mestas reached on an error and sophomores Andrew Stucky (Canyon del Oro HS) and Hunter Faildo drew back-to-back walks. Sophomore Braedon Mondeau (Cienega HS) drew a walk to score Mestas. Pinch runner Antonio Avila scored on a wild pitch to put Pima up 2-0.
Mestas hit an RBI single in the 7th inning to score freshman Austin Madsen (Canyon del Oro HS), who was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
Mestas finished 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Mondeau went 1 for 1 with an RBI and two walks and Madsen was 1 for 2 with a run scored.

Game 2: Pima CC Aztecs 10, Mesa CC Thunderbirds 2: The Aztecs scored runs in each inning between the 2nd and the 6th to take control.
Sophomore Kaden Stremick put the Aztecs on the board with an RBI double to drive in Madsen in the 2nd inning. Freshman Brant Kragel hit an RBI single to plate Stucky in the 3rd inning. Sophomore Luis Garcia (Salpointe Catholic HS) made it 3-0 in the 4th inning with his RBI single that scored Avila.
Up 3-2, the Aztecs got a big hit from Kragel in the 5th inning. He struck a two-run RBI double to right field to bring around Stucky and Faildo. The Aztecs got more breathing room in the 6th inning when Faildo hit a three-run home run to score Mestas and Stucky, who had singled and drew a walk respectively with two outs in the inning. The Aztecs led 8-2 at that point.
Freshman Jontae Hennesy (Horizon HS) and Madsen hit RBI singles in the 8th inning to help seal it.
Faildo finished the game 2 for 5 with three RBIs and two runs scored while Kragel went 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Stucky was a flawless 3 for 3 with three runs scored and two walks. Madsen finished 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored.
Castro picked up the win (4-2) after he pitched six innings, giving up two runs (two earned) on seven hits with four strikeouts and no walks.

The Aztecs will step away from ACCAC conference play as they take on Miles Community College on Monday at the Kino Sports Complex Field No. 5. The single game starts at 4:00 p.m.
