PUMAS SWEEP MESA TO SECURE POSTSEASON
With two games left in the regular season, and a three-way tie in the conference standings, the Pumas were ready to fight their way into the playoffs last weekend.  The Pumas did the job, dramatically sweeping MCC and securing their third place finish in the conference standings.
 
Friday, April 28: Game 1 - PVCC 7, MCC 6 (10)
 
Cowan's Walk-Off Gives Pumas Victory Over Mesa Community College
 
The Pumas took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off home run at the end of the game to topple MCC. The game was tied at six with PVCC batting in the bottom of the 10th when Ty Cowan hit a solo homer.
 
The Pumas collected nine hits and MCC had 12 in the high-scoring affair.
 
The Pumas tallied four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by the Pumas was led by Ty Nelson and Austin Corbett, all knocking in runs in the inning.
 
With MCC ahead 6-5, in the bottom of the sixth inning PV tied things up at six when Drew Kaatz singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
 
Jackson Brenna started the game for  PV. Brenna surrendered six runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out seven. Drew Bond took the win for the Pumas. Bond surrendered zero runs on one hit over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Tomas Urbina threw two innings in relief.
 
The Pumas saw the ball well, racking up nine hits in the game. Corbett and Kaatz each racked up multiple hits. Kaatz and Corbett each collected two hits to lead the Pumas.
 
Saturday, April 29: Game 2 PVCC 16, MCC 1 (7)
 
Four RBI Day For Drew Kaatz Brings Victory For The Pumas
 
PVCC defeated MCC 16-1 thanks in part to Drew Kaatz, who drove in four runs. Kaatz drove in runs on a double in the second and a single in the third.
 
The Pumas grabbed an early lead scoring on a single by Chaz Clemons, a single by Austin Corbett, a double by Kaatz, a triple by Robbie Liddington, and a single by Cole Williams in the second inning.
 
The Pumas pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second, Clemons singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Corbett singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Kaatz doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs, Liddington tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Williams singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
 
Mason Brunson started the game for the Pumas. The lefty went four innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out five.
 
PVCC smacked two home runs on the day. Alec Ratner went yard in the seventh inning. Dayton Francis had a four bagger in the fifth inning.
 
The Pumas totaled 19 hits in the game. CorbettTy CowanKaatzWilliamsFranci sClemons, and Liddington all managed multiple hits. KaatzCowan, and Corbett each collected three hits to lead the squad.
