Men, women both finish 2nd at the Mesa Thunderbird Cross Country Classic
Mesa, AZ- Mesa hosted its annual Mesa Thunderbird Cross Country Classic at Mesa Community College Saturday morning with seven teams participating.
For the Mesa women, they ran a 5K and it again was Adeline Montgomery(Fr., Gilbert, AZ, Highland H.S.) that led the pack for the T-Birds, finishing third overall with an 18:32.8 time. Samantha Miller(Fr., Woodbury, MN, Chandler H.S.) finished second for the T-Birds with a time of 19:18.5.
Mesa women finished second overall as a team, placing behind Pima who finished first.
On the men's side, who ran an 8K, Blake Fischer(So., Tempe, AZ, Corona Del Sol H.S.) finished third overall with a time of 26:29.2 with David Hernandez(Fr., Oro Valley, AZ, Ironwood Ridge H.S.) finishing sixth overall with a time of 26:07.3.
Mesa men finished second overall as a team, right behind Pima.
The T-Birds next run at the Arizona Christian Invite next Saturday.
