Glendale, AZ - The #17 Mesa Thunderbirds dropped another tough conference match Wednesday night against another nationally ranked team in the #4 Glendale Gauchos in five sets, 25-20, 25-21, 19-25, 20-25, 11-15.
Just like the T-Birds did against Yavapai last Friday, Mesa jumped out of the gate winning the first two sets. However, sets three, four and five went to the Gauchos. In the fifth set, Mesa fell behind 8-2 but battled back to tie the set at 11. Glendale finished the final four points to secure the 3-2 match victory.
The T-Birds move to 12-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play. Mesa will have a week off before hosting Chandler-Gilbert at Theo Heap Gym at 7 pm next Wednesday night.
