All ACCAC / Region I Volleyball Teams Announced: Region I Tournament INFO

The All ACCAC / Region I volleyball teams have been announced and Lauren Palmer and Becca Belles have earned spots on the respective teams.

Lauren Palmer has earned All ACCAC First Team and All-Region I - DII First Team for the 2018 season.  On the year, the freshman from Gilbert High School tallied 230 kills with 278 digs, including 11 service aces.

Becca Belles earned ACCAC Honorable Mention for the 2018 season.  The freshman from Glendale Cactus High School totalled 185 kills, 252 digs with eight service aces.

REGION I TOURNAMENT INFO

The Mesa Thunderbirds have reached the Region I Tournament for the third year in a row and will enter as the #3 seed.

Mesa will play in the first match of the three day tournament, which all matches will be hosted at South Mountain Community College, who earned the #1 seed, against the #2 Glendale Gauchos.  

The T-Birds and Gauchos will begin at 4 pm Thursday afternoon, with #1 South Mountain facing the #4 seed Pima Aztecs at 7 pm.  It is a double-elimination tournament.

Cost for entry to the tournament is $5 for adults and $3 for students. No passes will be accepted.
