Tucson, AZ - It wasn't the best of nights for the #5 Mesa Thunderbirds volleyball team as they dropped a drama filled five set thriller at Pima Community College Friday night.
After losing set one, 17-25, Mesa took sets two and three, 25-16, 25-19. The Aztecs pulled out a 20-25 win in set four to set the stage for a pivotal fifth set. But it was Pima who controlled the final 15 points, downing the T-Birds, 15-9.
Mesa drops to 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in ACCAC play. The T-Birds will play at home next Wednesday night, September 5th, against the Scottsdale Artichokes, beginning at 7 pm.
