Tucson, AZ - The #12 Mesa Thunderbirds knew they made the playoffs but a win Friday night would mean that the T-Birds would host the Region I, ACCAC DII tournament at Theo Heap Gym. With a three set sweep of Pima, Mesa will now officially host the tournament for the first time since the tournament has been created.
Mesa scored a 25-17, 25-19, 25-19 victory to help finish off the best Mesa record in the last 13 years. Mesa finished with a 20-8 overall record with a 10-5 conference record.
Mesa will now be the host for the Region I, ACCAC DII tournament that will takes place November 2-4. Match times and final seedings will be determined as soon as all the scores are accounted for Friday night.
