Glendale, AZ - For the second time this season, the #16 Mesa Thunderbirds volleyball team beat the #9 Glendale Gauchos in another five set thriller, 23-25, 25-11, 25-17, 21-25, 15-8.
Leading the way for the #16 T-Birds was Raquel Valliere, who finished with 13 kills and three solo blocks. Leah Crist had 10 kills and three solo blocks as well while Cambria Whiting had nine kills, 10 digs and two solo blocks. Paige Greenly had nine kills, two solo blocks and three block assists.
Prior to this season, it would be difficult to lock down a year in which the T-Birds defeated a Gaucho team that has dominated the ACCAC conference for years.
Mesa improves to 16-8 on the season with an 8-5 conference record. Mesa will be at home on Friday night against the Phoenix College Bears, start time at 7 pm.
