San Diego, CA - The Mesa Thunderbirds volleyball team spent the weekend in San Diego, enjoying cooler weather and enjoying even more the three victories they had on their four day trip.
"It was definitely a good weekend for sure," said Head Coach Megan Taylor.
Mesa defeated Grossmont Community College in straight sets, 25-19, 25-20, 25-15 in their first match. Then they took down SD Mesa Community College in four sets, 25-16, 22-25, 25-15,25-20. They finished off the three win weekend with a victory over Southwestern Community College, also in straight sets, 25-19, 25-11, 25-16.
With a season opening win over Ottawa JV this past Tuesday night, the T-Birds start the season 4-0. The first big test of the season will come this coming week when they host Scottsdale at home on Tuesday. They will finish the week at Chandler-Gilbert on Friday night, both matches starting at 7 pm.
