Women's Tennis captures first conference win of the year on Tuesday

MCC Women's Tennis came out victorious in their first conference match on Tuesday as they took down Paradise Valley, 8-1.

The Lady T-Birds got a clean 3-0 sweep in doubles play as Avouany Rossi and Mikaela Corra were able to pull off an exciting 9-7 victory. Sienna Buttafuoco and Journey Barajas dominated in their doubles contest coming away with the 8-2 win.

Mesa kept their winning ways going in singles play as they nearly completed the clean sweep. Journey Barajas was the only T-Bird to fall in singles action as she fell 6-3, 6-3. Taylor Wasson had a great performance as she came out on top 6-1, 6-1 against her competition. Lynn Angulo (6-4, 6-0) and Kirsten Neilson (6-2, 6-1) both also came out on top to help Mesa earn their first conference victory.

The T-Birds will be back in action on Thursday as they will travel to take on the Gauchos of Glendale, match begins at 1:30 p.m
