Mesa's 8th-ranked women's tennis team blanks Pima, 9-0
Tucson, AZ – Another day, another ACCAC shutout for the eighth-ranked Mesa women's tennis team which blanked Pima, Thursday, 9-0, for its 26th consecutive conference win.
"We're happy to have a 9-0 win against a hungry Pima women's team, noted head coach Adam Cohen. "I'm not thrilled with our overall team performance. We have some maturing to do on court mentally. We will see if the women are up to the task."
Leading the way for MCC with the most decisive singles win wax Hanna Nelson, a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 5 over Jayme Shafer. No. 1 singles, 13th-ranked Khanh Huynh won over Pima's Emma Oropeza, 6-1, 6-2 and 32nd ranked Naa Ankrah was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Janine Fernando.
The T-Birds will be in action Saturday at home when they take on New Mexico Military at 9:00 a.m.
