Back in ACCAC action, women's tennis defeats Glendale, 6-3
GLENDALE, AZ - After three straight non-conference matches, the Mesa women's tennis team returned to conference play, scoring a 6-3 win over Glendale Thursday.
Despite some small problems with illness, MCC prevailed in straight sets in matches not affected by the problem.
Michelle Fournier (Fr., Chicago, Ill/Saguaro (AZ) H.S.) won at No. 2, 6-0 and 6-3. Desiree Curiel (So., Globe-Miami, AZ/Maimi (H.S.) prevailed at No. 3, 6-2, 6-0. They also teamed at No 2 doubles to win, 8-2.
In addition, Sheridan Skarda (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain H.S.) took a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles and Sydney Madsen (So., Orem, Utah/Perry (AZ) H.S.) won at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0. They paired for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
Mesa will visit Paradise Valley Monday for a 1:30 p.m. match.
