Mesa, AZ – The Mesa women's soccer team finished its season in style Thursday night at John D. Riggs Stadium with a 6-1 victory over GateWay.
The T-Birds were led by Rylee Rottweiler who collected her first career hat trick in her final MCC game with three goals.
Her first came just 3:50 into the contest with an assist from Olivia Rodina to give Mesa a lead it would never relinquish.
Less than ten minutes later Xitlaly Padilla knocked in her third of the year, with help from Jacee Quinn,
After GWCC cut the margin to 2-1, Katy Cafaro extended MCC's margin to two goals with Sarah Banks assisting and then Rottweiler made it 4-1 at halftime with Cafaro helping out.
Quinn joined the scoring parade at the 49:32 mark of the second half and then Rottweiler nailed her third with about ten minutes to play, assisted by Christiana Salaiz.
The win gave the T-Birds a final record of 4-11 and 4-7 in ACCAC play, while the Geckos finished 1-12-1 and 1-9-1.
