Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds fell to the Phoenix College Bears Tuesday afternoon, 5-2. The Bears scored quickly and never looked back, taking a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Bears would score the next two goals in the second half before Maia Gajate connected on two free kicks in the 71st and 78th minutes. For Gajate, that's her second and third goals on the season.
The T-Birds fall to 5-7-1 on the season and in conference play. They will play at Chandler-Gilbert on Thursday afternoon at 4:30 then back at home on Saturday afternoon against Arizona Western, which is also sophomore day. 4:30 pm start time for that match as well.
