Women's Soccer Late Offensive Push Comes Up Empty in 1-0 Loss to Chandler-Gilbert

Gilbert, AZ- A late offensive push by the Mesa Thunderbirds came up empty in a 1-0 loss to Chandler-Gilbert Tuesday night.

The Coyotes for much of the first half had the T-Birds on their heels but Mesa goalkeeper, Brandi Anderson, did a fine job at not letting Chandler-Gilbert get any shots into the net.

The Coyotes however kept the pressure on through the start of the second half, scoring at the 68 minute mark.

Mesa, who until that point, hadn't had a strong offensive attack, starting pressuring the back line and attacking the goal.

All attempts to tie the game at one came up short.  The T-Birds even had a throw in with ten seconds left in the match that Logen Moen threw into the box but Chandler-Gilbert knocked it away.

The T-Birds are now 2-2 on the season.  They turnaround and play again on Thursday at home against Arizona Western at 7 p.m.
