MESA, AZ - The Mesa women's soccer team took the award for Best Community Service Team at the recent MCC awards banquet and has kept it's public service efforts going through a volunteer effort at Future for Kids.

Future for Kids was founded by retired NFL player Rodney Smith 24 years ago. At first it was a collective effort of several NFL players, but in 2002 it expanded to include direct service programs in after school hours.

The Future for Kids program has now touched the lives of over 130,000 children and their families.

The Mesa team has become a regular at the groups events and was even assisted this year by one of the men's soccer players.
