MESA, AZ - Jordan Drake (So., Grand Junction, Colo/Grand Junction H.S.) and Mackenzie Mabery, pictured right, (So., Cottonwood, AZ/Mingus Union H.S.) each scored in the final eight minutes of regulation time, lifting the Mesa women's soccer team to a 2-2 tie with 11th-ranked Paradise Valley Tuesday night at John D. Riggs Stadium.

Drake got things started at 81:58 with an assist from Morgan Eddy.(So., Farmington, NM/Farmington H.S.) It was Drake's third goal of the season.

Mabery then tied it with exactly five minutes to play, with Eddy recording her second assist. For Mabery it was also her third score of the year.

That sent the game into OT, with MCC preserving the tie. The Thunderbirds have now played the ACCAC's two nationally-ranked teams and come away with a win and a tie. MCC beat 16th-ranked Chandler-Gilbert last week, 2-0. Mesa is now 3-3-3 while PVCC has a 7-2-1 mark.

The Pumas got on the board first when Kathleen Nagy scored in the 32nd minute. They took a 2-0 lead in the 51st minute on a goal by Bridgette Sabanosh.

The T-Birds will host South Mountain Thursday in a 7:00 p.m. game at John D. Riggs Stadium.
