Fusak leads No. 7 women's golf to seven-shot lead at Mesa Invitational

  Mesa, AZ – With Megan Fusak leading the way, the seventh-ranked women's golf team grabbed a seven-shot lead on the first day of the Mesa Invitational Monday, the final event before the NJCAA National Championship. The event is being played at the Longbow G.C. which will also be the site of the national championship.

  Fusak was the only golfer to break 80, carding a 79 to lead by two shots as MCC recorded a 349 to Chandler-Gilbert's 356. Pima is third at 390.

  Haley Kapanicas was in third place individually with an 82. Taylor Gransen shot an 88 to place sixth and Hannah Brown tied for tenth place at 93.

  The tournament ends Tuesday.
