Women's golf places 10th at national championship; Kapanicas 16th

  Braselton, Ga. – The Mesa women's golf team finished in tenth place as the NJCAA national championship concluded at the Chateau Elan Resort course Thursday. It was the 15th time in 16 years that the MCC women have placed in the top 10.

  MCC shot a final round 340 for a 1358 total for 72 holes. The T-Birds were eight shots behind Western Texas and four ahead of Des Moines. Daytona State was an easy winner with an 1191 total, 14 clear of Seminole State.

  MCC's Haley Kapanicas  placed 16th individually with a final-round 79 and a 312 total. She earned honorable mention All-American honors.

  Megan Fusak tied for 36th place, closing with an 83-331.

  Madison Tjaden recorded a final round 88 for a 343 total and a tie for 53rd place.

  Cheyanne Stewart tied for 87th place with a final-round 90 and a 372 total.
