Final regular season event sees women's golf leading South Mountain Invitational by 25 on day one

Round one results

  PHOENIX, AZ - The final regular season event of the season for the Mesa women's golf team saw the T-Birds take a 25-stroke lead after the first day at the South Mountain Invitational Monday. The tournament is being played at the Legacy Golf Resort.

  MCC shot a 300 for the day, equalling its second best 18-hole score of the season. South Mountain was second at 325 and Pima was at 334.

  Jill Harvison (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Mountain View H.S.) was leading the field with a season-low, even-par 71.

  Sierra Myerscough (So., Champaign, Ill/St. Thomas More H.S.) was second with a 74 and Brianna Medrando (Fr., Queen Creek, AZ/Gilbert H.S.) was fifth with a 75.

  The event concludes Tuesday.
