2014 NJCAA women's golf nationals round one update

First Round Results

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Mesa women's golf team secured fifth-place with a score of 324 in Round One of the National Junior College Women's Championship Monday.

Daytona State College led with a total score of 290, followed by Seminole State-FL with 302 and McLennan CC with 318. MCC is 17 shots ahead of sixth-place Redlands CC.

The T-Birds have five players competing in the event that include Charlatta Thongbai (Fr., Gilbert, Ariz./Dobson)Jacquelyn Porman (Fr., Gilbert, Ariz./Chandler)Sarah Kaye (Fr., Scottsdale, Ariz./Chaparral)Sierra Meyerscough (So., Champaign, Ill./St. Thomas) and Chelsie Peterson (Fr., Tempe, Ariz./Marcos De Niza).

Here is what the scores look like for the T-Birds on the first day of the four-day event:

Second round tee times will start at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday with the T-Birds starting at 12:30 p.m on the LPGA International's Hills Course.
