Tucson, AZ – Placing five players in double figures, the No. 5-ranked Mesa women defeated Bismarck (N.D.) State, 87-68, Friday at the Bruce Fleck Classic played at Pima C.C.
The T-Birds, now 9-2, grabbed a 42-36 halftime lead and opened the game up by out-scoring the Mystics, now 6-5, 25-14 in the third period.
Leading MCC was Mykah Anderson with 16 points. She was followed by Nia Boston with 12. Mackenzie Shivers and Jasmine Belt each added 11 and Kada Taliman scored 10 and added 10 rebounds.
The T-Birds will take on Whatcom (Wash.) Saturday on the tournament's final day at 4 p.m.
