Janelle Barkey Earns ACCAC DII Player of the Week Honors
Janelle Barkey has earned ACCAC DII Player of the Week honors for her performances last week against Pima and South Plains.
Barkey, a 5-9 sophomore from Buckeye, AZ, and Buckeye H.S. played a big role in MCC's 64-49 win over Pima. She came off the bench to score 16 points, hitting 7-10 from the floor and had nine points in a 52-49 loss to South Plains, ranked #2 in Division I. She added a total of 17 rebounds plus three steals and two assists.
For Barkey, this is her first Player of the Week honor. For Mesa, this is their second Player of the Week honor as Zyan Smith earned it the week of November 25th.
