Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds took a 105-34 victory over Palo Verde College Saturday afternoon in the final day of the Veterans Day Classic.
Leading the way was Janelle Barkey, who finished with 16 points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Also scoring in double-figures was Jacey Salabiye and Heavyn Jordan, each scoring 12, DeShay Martinez scored 11, and Eliza Heiney and Stacey Begay each had 10 points.
These two teams will meet again next week at the Eastern Arizona Tournament in Thatcher, Arizona. Mesa's next game will be in that tournament on Thursday afternoon at 3 pm against Southwestern.
