Mesa Women's BBall Scores 20 Point Victory vs Lake Region, 69-49

Scottsdale, AZ - In the only game the Mesa Thunderbirds will play in the Bill Culver Classic, the T-Birds showed no let down from the holiday break as they defeated Lake Region, 69-49.

Mesa set the tone right from the get-go, jumping out to an early 20-2 advantage.  Defensive takeaways fueled the Mesa offense as Lake Region just couldn't handle the speed and quickness of the T-Birds.  

Leading the scoring for Mesa was Jacey Salabiye, who finished with 21 points.  Also scoring in double-figures with Raenesha Willis, who finished with 10, Iris Domebo and Lynnae Mitchell finished with 11. 

Mesa is now 6-8 overall and will now begin its conference schedule, beginning in Tucson on January 5th against the Pima Aztecs.  Game will begin at 2 pm.
