Leah Goodman, Takara Wade Earn Post-Season Honors

The #6 Mesa Thunderbirds Leah Goodman and Takara Wade have earned post-season conference honors for their performances during the 2017-2018 season.

Both Goodman and Wade earned 1st Team All-ACCAC and 1st Team All-Region DII Team.

On the season, Goodman was tough and gritty, leading the T-Birds in points per game (13.3) while knocking down 28 percent of her three pointers.  She averaged 2.8 steals per game, playing in all 30 games for the T-Birds this season.  Goodman set the Mesa team steals record with 14 at Chandler-Gilbert and her career high in points was 27 in the final game against Phoenix College.

For Takara Wade, she was the backbone of this Mesa lineup.  Her leadership and toughness helped Mesa earn the #1 spot in the Region I - ACCAC DII Tournament.  In 28 games this season, Wade averaged 9.5 points per game while averaging 4.1 assists per game.  She pulled down five rebounds per game and averaged 1.6 steals per game.

With Goodman and Wade running the show, the T-Birds were a well-oiled machine all season, winning 24 total games, defeating all the DII schools and earning the #1 spot in the Region I - ACCAC DII Tournament.
