Mesa, AZ - The #6 Mesa Thunderbirds seem almost unstoppable Wednesday night as they defeated the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes, 91-47.
Diamond Fuller led the T-Birds, as she finished with a career high in points with 22, knocking down all of her free-throws (8-8). Also setting a new high mark in points was Cheyanne Begay, scoring 17 points while dishing out four assists. Anessa Glenn was the only other T-Bird to finish in double-figures with 10 points.
Defensively, Mesa had 15 steals on the night, forcing a total of 26 turnovers and scoring 33 points off of those turnovers. Leah Goodman, who set a career mark in steals with 14 the last time these two played at Chandler-Gilbert, collected five more steals tonight.
Mesa shot 51 percent from the field (37-72), made 14-17 free-throws and received 37 points from its bench.
The T-Birds are 19-5 overall on the season and 14-2 in the ACCAC. They will travel down to Coolidge, AZ for a matchup with Central Arizona College on Saturday for a 2 pm start time.
