Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds defeated the Tohono O'Odham Jego's Wednesday night in ACCAC conference play, 68-35, in front of a solid crowd celebrating Indigenous Nations Night at Theo Heap Gym.
Cheyenne Begay scored a game high 16 points while Diamond Fuller scored 12 points and Leah Goodman knocked in 11 points.
Mesa scored 36 points off 32 Jego turnovers while collecting 18 total steals. 42 of Mesa's points came from their bench play.
Anessa Glenn and Deja Dagons each collected nine rebounds while Diamond Fuller and Trae Frazier each had three blocks.
The T-Birds are 6-2 overall with a 3-0 conference mark. Mesa will be on the road on Saturday at Chandler-Gilbert for a 2 pm tipoff with the Coyotes.
