Women's Basketball to Host 2nd Annual Mesa Classic Friday and Saturday
The 2nd Annual Mesa Classic will be played Friday and Saturday at Theo Heap Gym, with a field of solid teams playing. College of Southern Idaho entered the 2017-2018 season as the NJCAA DI #24 rank pre-season team while a familiar Cochise College is receiving votes in the NJCAA DI pre-season rankings.
The host Mesa Thunderbirds entered the NJCAA DII rankings as the #11 team. Mesa already has a solid win under their belts to start the season with a victory over #21 (DI) Midland, 60-55. The other team participating is the Grand Canyon University Club team.
On Friday, it will be Cochise and GCU Club that will begin the two day Classic with a tip off at 4 pm with the T-Birds and the Golden Eagles tipping off at 6 pm. Saturday's slate of games will see College of Southern Idaho and Cochise with a noon tipoff with Mesa and GCU Club tipping off at 2 pm.
