PC Trips Up #16 Mesa in Regular Season Finale, 76-66

Phoenix, AZ - The Phoenix College Bears got the better of the #16 Mesa Thunderbirds women's basketball team in Tuesday night's regular season finale, 76-66.

Though the T-Birds dropped their eighth game of the season, Mesa will enter the Region I/ACCAC DII Tournament as the #1 seed, with the first game being played at Theo Heap Gym next Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.

Ironically, Mesa will host Phoenix College, who with the victory Tuesday night against Mesa, earned the #4 seed over Glendale, who fell to Eastern Arizona.

Being the Bears sophomore night and with playing for the last playoff spot, Phoenix College brought their shooting "A" game.  PC outscored the T-Birds in each quarter of the night.

Mesa on the night was led by Anessa Glenn, who scored a career high 23 points and finished with seven rebounds.  Sham Troupe finished with a double-double, with 12 points and 12 rebounds while also having three blocks on the night.

Mesa shot 42 percent from the field but only made one out of ten three pointers on the night, compared to seven three pointers made by the Bears.

The T-Birds and Bears split the season series, with each team winning on their home court.

This will be the third season in a row that Mesa and Phoenix will battle in the Region I/ACCAC DII playoffs, with Mesa winning two of the three battles.
