Mesa, AZ - Mesa continues to heat up in conference play as they defeated the South Mountain Cougars Wednesday night, 63-41.
Leading the way for Mesa was Quynne Huggins, who had 19 points, four rebounds and three steals while NJCAA Player of the Week, Allies Fuller, scored 18 points, while pulling down five rebounds.
It was a big second quarter where Mesa pulled away for good from the Cougars, outscoring South Mountain 19-10 and heading to halftime with a 35-20 advantage.
For the game, Mesa shot 37 percent (23-61) from the field, connecting on seven three pointers and making 10 of 12 free throws.
The T-Birds will be on the road on Saturday at Glendale. Tipoff will be at 2 p.m.
