T-Birds Upset #2 Pima in Tucson on Allies Fuller Last Second Three, 84-81

Tucson, AZ - It was an Allies Fuller last second three pointer that was the difference in Mesa women's basketball upsetting the #2 Pima Aztecs in Tucson, AZ, Wednesday night, 84-81.

The T-Birds played one of the toughest games against one of the toughest teams in the country.  Led by guard Tori Lloyd, who scored 24 points in 37 minutes, also had help from Quynne Huggins, who finished with 19 points.  The game winning hero, Allies Fuller, had 17 points and seven rebounds.

Mesa and Pima were nearly identical in the stats catergory.  Both teams had 38 rebounds, 8-6 on assists and 8-6 steals.

Pima tied the game with 4.6 seconds left in the fourth quarter at 81.  But it was Fuller who connected on her first three of the season to give Mesa the huge conference victory.

The T-Birds move to 11-5 overall and 7-3 in the conference.  Pima also moves to 7-3 in the ACCAC DII rankings.  The T-Birds will be at home on Saturday against Phoenix College at 2 p.m.
