Mesa Hustles Past Scottsdale, 70-55

Scottsdale, AZ - The T-Birds defeated the Scottsdale Artichokes Wednesday night, 70-55.  Mesa had a strong effort from not only their starting five, but a strong effort from their bench players as well in the win.  

Leading the T-Birds in scoring was Tori Lloyd, who finished with 13 while Allies Fuller added a dozen points and Takara Wade scoring nine points.

Mesa controlled all four quarters, including the second quarter where the T-Birds pulled ahead and never looked back.  Mesa outscored the Artichokes 21-7 in the second quarter, going into halftime with a 34-18 lead.

Coming off the bench and adding to Mesa's victory was Bianca Casares, who finished with eight points while Paige Nealy added six points. Regina Dela Cruz added seven points as well.

With the victory, Mesa is now 10-4 overall, and sit tied atop the ACCAC DII standings with Pima at a 6-2 record.  The T-Birds have a big game this Saturday as they host ACCAC top seed Cochise College at 2 p.m. at Theo Heap Gym.
