Gillespie named ACCAC Player of the Week

  MESA, AZ - Megan Gillespie (So., Phoenix, AZ/Arcadia H.S.) has been named ACCAC Player of the Week for her efforts in Mesa's two wins last week.

  Gillespie helped lead MCC to wins over Arizona Western on the road, 43-41, and Phoenix in a home contest, 58-36.

  In the two games she averaged 12.5 points and 10.0 rebounds, getting her first career double-double in the Phoenix game with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

  She was also 8-17 from the floor and had three assists.

  The T-Birds are ranked No. 11 in the nation in NJCAA Division II and are leading the ACCAC in Division II as they seek their fourth straight regional championship.

  Mesa plays at GLendale Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
