Women's basketball now 12th in NJCAA DII poll

  MESA, AZ - A loss at home to Pima Saturday has dropped the Mesa women's basketball team to No. 12 in the NJCAA Division II poll announced today.

  The T-Birds fell to the Aztecs, 72-70, after defeating South Mountain, 78-38, earlier in the week. They are now 7-3 overall and 5-2 in ACCAC play.

  Their standing in the NJCAA poll is similar to a year ago when they were ninth in the corresponding week with a 7-2 record. That was en route to winning the national championship.

  Mesa has off until Dec. 29 when it will take on Division I Howard in the first of three games to be played on consecutive days at Scottsdale.
