Stellmach adds third qualifier, three others beat NJCAA standards at Aztec Invitational
Tucson, AZ – Two brand new names were added to Mesa's NJCAA national qualifying list and two athletes already on the list created new marks to highlight the T-Birds' showing at the Aztec Indoor Saturday.
Tristan Stellmach added a third event to his growing list by bettering the national standard in the 800 meters at 1:59.87. He already has qualified in the mile and 5000 meters.
Meanwhile, Marquis Brown-Tiller added his name to the list with a 400-meter time of 49.38.
The MCC women also hit the mark twice. Sadie Sweeney improved her performance in the weight throw to 49-6 and Alexandra Louis became a first-time qualifier with a 3:10.24 clocking in the 1000 meters.
Mesa will host its own meet, the Mesa Indoor, Saturday at John D. Riggs Stadium. The multi-events will be contested Friday at the same location.
