Indoor track and field equals or exceeds seven qualifying marks at Puma Indoor

  PARADISE VALLEY, AZ – The Mesa indoor track and field team added two new NJCAA nationals qualifiers, improved on three others and equaled two more at the Puma Indoor at Paradise Valley Saturday.

  Joining MCC's list of those bettering the NJCAA standard were freshman Idris Konzivenet in the men's 600 meters and Miranda Worthen in the women's pole vault.

  Konzivenet clocked 1:20.73 in the 600 and Worthen cleared 10-0.

  Meanwhile, Cameron Lewis improved to 51-6 ½ in the men's shot put, Justice Angel bettered her mark in the women's pole vault to 10-11 ¾ and the men's 4x400 relay team recorded a time of 3:21.39.

  MCC's two men's pole vault qualifiers, Kyle Downey and Eric Cochran both equaled the marks they set a week ago with 16-2 ¾ and 14-9 vaults respectively.

  Mesa returns to action Saturday at Pima's second Invitational in Tucson.
