Men's and women's track and field both finish 14th at NJCAA championships

  Hutchinson, Kan. – In a busy day with a compressed schedule due to Friday's postponed events, the Mesa men's and women's track and field teams each finished in 14th place at the NJCAA Division I championships.

  The MCC women recorded 21 points led by pole vaulters Calla Reed and Justice Angel. Reed finished sixth with a leap of 10-11 ¾. While Angel was seventh clearing 10-6.

  Also scoring points for the T-Birds was Samantha Miller who took fourth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:26.87.

  In addition, Sayge McKrill grabbed eighth place in the discus with a toss of 141-7.

  For the Mesa men who scored 26 points, Antwan Ross-Jones claimed third place in the high jump with a leap of 6-11 ¾.

  Riley Korcuska also recorded a third place finish. His was in the pole vault where he cleared 15-1.

  Cameron Lewis who took eighth in the hammer on Thursday, finished fourth in the discus at 158.5.
