T-Birds Get One Win vs Pima Tuesday Afternoon, 3-1, 0-8 (5)

Mesa, AZ - It was a great start to the day for the Mesa Thunderbirds softball team as they won game against the Pima Aztecs, 3-1, but things didn't end how they started as the Aztecs took game two, 8-0, in five innings.

In game one, with the scored tied at one in the bottom of the sixth inning, Ieleen Guardado doubled down the right field line.  Two batters later, Jaden McDaniel tripled to score pinch-runner, Ariana Sanchez.  Sammy Quezada then singled to score McDaniel from third to solidify the 3-1 win.

Jadin Placencio earned the win by pitching six innings, allowing three hits, one run and striking out three.

Mesa moves to 13-13 overall on the season and 9-13 in conference.  The T-Birds will travel to Yavapai College on Saturday for a night cap double-header, beginning at 5 pm.
