Mesa, AZ- Mesa took advantage of a small rostered Gateway Geckos Saturday afternoon with a sweep of the ACCAC DII opponent, 9-1, 4-1.
Kayla Bradford had two hits with three RBI's in game one, with Korynn Molina going 4-4 with two RBI's. Amanda Hernandez also went 4-4 with a stolen base. Leighann Ballesteros connected on two run homer in the fourth inning, her fifth of the season.
In game two, it was Lexi Valencia who collected two hits and two RBI's that help propel Mesa to the 4-1 victory and sweep of Gateway.
With the sweep today, Mesa has five sweeps on the season, the first since March 15th at South Mountain.
Mesa is 18-27 overall, 14-24 in the ACCAC. The T-Birds will again be at home next Tuesday for a double-header against Chandler-Gilbert, first pitch at 1 p.m.
