Phoenix, AZ- Mesa softball came home with two important ACCAC DII victories today as they swept the South Mountain Cougars, 11-3, 7-1, in South Phoenix Tuesday afternoon.
Strong pitching from Nikki Verdugo and Faith Napodano paced Mesa on the defensive side with Leighann Ballesteros cranking a home run in game one that help propel Mesa to the Cougar sweep.
The T-Birds are now 13-16 overall and 10-14 in the ACCAC. Mesa has another tough double header on Saturday as they face off against Phoenix College at home, first pitch at noon.
