MESA, AZ -- Facing one of the better teams in the ACCAC, the Mesa softball team fell 10-0 and 12-1 in both games of the doubleheader to Scottsdale in Mesa, Ariz.

The Artichokes (36-17, 22-14 in the ACCAC) limited the T-Birds (12-34, 9-29) to six hits in game one and used a seven-run fifth inning to propel a 10-0 victory. The game ended in five innings.

The T-Birds got three hits in their first three at-bats in the bottom of the first inning. After that, there were only two singles for the the rest of the game. Kyleigh Hanson, pictured right, (So., Snohomish, Wash./Snohomish) was the only batter to have multiple hits in the contest.

Game two almost felt like a repeat, with the Artichokes allowing just seven hits and one run. The T-Birds had three singles in the bottom of the first frame, and didn't display much after that. Hanson again was the only one to have at least two hits in the second game as well. She also recorded an RBI that scored Jessica Jarvis (So., Vail, Ariz./Cienega)  to earn their only run of the game. The T-Birds lost 12-1.

The T-Birds will host Glendale in a doubleheader at noon Saturday in Mesa, Ariz.
