Softball Closes Season With Doubleheader Loss to South Mountain

  MESA, AZ - The 2014 Mesa softball season came to a close Saturday with a doubleheader loss to South Mountain, 7-0 and 12-3.

  The T-Birds closed the year with a 14-38 record and were 11-33 in ACCAC play.

  In the opener against the Cougars, Demetria Boltarez, pictured right, (So., Hayden, AZ/Hayden H.S.) was the only MCC player with a multi-hit game, going 2-3.

In the nightcap, Mariah Gonzales (Fr., Gilbert, AZ/Highland H.S.) and Boltarez were both 2-3 and Bridget Kruck (Fr., Lynden, Wash/Lynden Christian H.S.) was 2-4.
