Men's cross country "B" team places second at Redhawk Invitational
Gilbert, AZ – The Mesa men's cross country "B" team, led by Bryan Mendez, took second place at the Redhawk Invitational held at Freestone Park Saturday.
Mendez finished sixth overall in the 31-runner field with a 5.23-mile time of 30:10.4. MCC was second to Arizona Christina, 24-34, and placed ahead of Dine College which scored 62 points.
For the T-Birds, Victor Villalvazo had a breakthrough race with a tenth place finish in 30:22.1, while Owen Jackson was 11th, timed in 30:40.7.
Up next for Mesa is the Region I Championship Friday in Tucson, AZ.
